Waterfront Dining in Sarasota & Charlotte Counties:
Why Just Visit When You Can Live It?
One of the best things about living in Southwest Florida? The food and the views. If you're thinking about making a move to Sarasota or Charlotte County, just know: your future weekends could include fresh seafood, a cold drink, and a beach view or sunset over the water. Here’s a quick taste of what it’s like to live (and dine) in paradise.
1. Sharky’s on the Pier – Venice
A true local favorite. Casual, fun, and right on the Gulf. Watch the waves roll in while enjoying a grouper sandwich or mahi mahi tacos. Bonus: it’s next to the Venice Fishing Pier, so you can take a swim or a stroll after your meal.
2. Farlow’s on the Water – Englewood
This one brings a Caribbean twist! Fresh seafood, tropical cocktails, and lush landscaping right on the Intracoastal. You might even spot a manatee while you sip your mojito.
3. Lock 'N Key – Englewood Beach
Right across from the beach, this relaxed spot serves up tasty seafood and sandwiches with live music indoors or on the patio. Happy Hours (11-6) try their luck with pull tabs; lucky tabs could mean $.50 drinks. Perfect after a day in the sun.
4. The Waverly – Englewood
Upscale but not stuffy. Gorgeous views of the Gulf, beautifully plated dishes, and a fantastic happy hour. Ideal for date night or sunset watching.
5. Laishley Crab House – Punta Gorda
Waterfront dining with a big-city menu feel. Sushi, seafood towers, and views of Charlotte Harbor from the rooftop deck. Come by boat or car!
6. Dockside Grill at Four Points – Punta Gorda
Live music, marina views, and casual dining. This is the kind of place where time slows down—and that’s the whole point.
7. Marina Jack – Sarasota Bayfront
Iconic and elegant. You can dine indoors or outside, hop on a sunset cruise, or simply watch the boats go by. A Sarasota must-do.
The breeze – always.
Live music – you’ll hear everything from steel drums to acoustic covers.
The people – friendly locals, happy visitors, and that laid-back SW Florida vibe.
Sunset magic – seriously, every meal tastes better with a Gulf sunset.
Living here means this isn’t just a vacation treat—it’s your Tuesday night dinner plan. Whether you’re retired, relocating, or just ready for a lifestyle upgrade, Southwest Florida has more than sunshine and real estate—it’s got flavor.
